My name is Sarah Marie Graye. I have ADHD. (I’m also a novelist.)
The name The Dissociated Voice comes from my MA Creative Writing dissertation, which I wrote prior to my ADHD diagnosis. At the time, my only diagnosis was depression, which I suffered from relatively severely.
The title for my dissertation was: How a Psychotic Dissociated Voice is Established in First-Person Fiction. I was fascinated by the idea that mental health could be captured in the voice of a character in a book.
